Primer, colour polish, and Top Coat contain p-hydroxyanisole. The ingredient is used in a very small amount as a stabilizer and helps prevent premature reaction of the formulation.

For gel nail systems, p-hydroxyanisole is approved under the EU Cosmetics Regulation up to a maximum concentration of 0.02%. At the same time, the regulation requires products containing this ingredient in this application area to carry the notice "For professional use only" as well as to avoid skin contact.

The low approved amount doesn't mean the product was assessed as unsafe simply because of it: the responsible scientific committee assessed exposure under intended use as very low. The regulatory restriction takes into account, in particular, that the product is applied precisely to the nail plate and that skin contact should be avoided.
