With PlantPRO, gitti showed that gel polish and a plant-inspired care approach go well together. GelCare builds on this experience and develops the system further in the areas users ask about most: longer wear, easier application and a measurable care effect.

Application: In GelCare, a primer replaces the base coat. It is applied along the nail edge and air-dries within a few seconds, with no lamp needed. This means three instead of four curing steps, each 60 seconds. The 48W LED lamp stays the same.

Wear: The GelCare Primer bonds chemically with the nail surface. The newly developed GelCare Top Coat forms a densely cross-linked, scratch-resistant finish with a plumping shine. Together, they provide up to 21 days of wear.

Care: Vegan keratin from quinoa, chickpea and lentil, as well as biotin, were already part of PlantPRO. GelCare adds hyaluronic acid. The three care ingredients are combined in the colour polish as the S.R²® Colour Care Complex, because the colour layer sits directly on the nail. In a clinical study, nail hardness was on average 50% higher after three weeks of use and subsequent removal than at the start.

Removal: Both systems are removed without acetone. The GelCare Gel Remover contains nourishing jojoba oil. Because the top coat is more strongly cross-linked, lightly buff its surface before removal to break up the “network”. After 15 minutes of soaking, the polish lifts off easily.

What stays the same: Both systems are HEMA-free and use the same Prep & Finish Cleanser and the same LED lamp.
