For our makeup and skincare products, 30-free means that we completely exclude the following 30 ingredients or ingredient groups that are commonly used in conventional formulations:
Ingredients of animal origin (e.g., carmine)
Controversial synthetic polymers (e.g., acrylates)
Silicones
Parabens
Microplastics (UNEP definition)
Phthalates (e.g., diethyl phthalate)
Mineral oils/waxes
Ethoxylated ingredients (e.g., PEG, phenoxyethanol, sodium laureth sulfate)
Butylated compounds (e.g., BHA)
Camphor
Triphenyl phosphate
Triclosan & triclocarban
Halogenated substances (e.g., chlorphenesin)
EDTA
Colophony/rosin
Formaldehyde releasers (e.g., diazolidinyl urea)
Hydroquinone and derivatives (e.g., arbutin)
Diethylhexyl adipate
Questionable UV filters (e.g., benzophenone, octocrylene)
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)
